Heart’s Home founder, Rev. Thierry de Roucy, was 18 when he entered in 1975 the religious congregation of the Servants of Jesus and Mary located in Ourscamp, France. He received his bachelor and master of Philosophy from the french Institute of Comparative Philosophy (“Institut de Philosophie Comparee”) in Paris, and holds a Master of Theology from “the Angelicum”, the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
He was ordained priest in 1983, and was the Superior General of his congregation from 1988 to 2001. His election as Superior General prevented him from completing his PhD in philosophy and theology, which he had started at the Pontifical University in Rome.
In 1990, as Rev. Thierry de Roucy was praying the Rosary along with his community, he received the intuition to start Heart’s Home. In 1995, he founded the Molokai Fraternity, the Lay Permanent Members of Heart’s Home and the Servants of God’s Presence, a congregation of religious sisters affiliated to Heart’s Home.
Since 1990, he has established 42 Missionary houses and 2 Heart’s Home villages in 20 countries.
Rev. Thierry de Roucy is a recipient of the French Légion d’Honneur.
